Janice Florent: PACFA Certified Clinical Supervisor and Registered Clinical Counsellor

Welcome to Inspiring Strengths!  I am so happy to be here with you.

As a values-based supervisor, leader, and clinician, what is important to you is important to me. I am committed to highly ethical practice and I love what I do.  When we meet, I hope you will experience my passion for my profession; delivered with compassion and a healthy dose of humour.

  • 15 years' experience in Counselling Practice Leadership and Governance

Counsellor

  • 25 years' experience, specialising in emotional and mental health and wellbeing, behaviour change, chronic disease, and addiction.
  • Strengths-based and trauma-informed counsellor, working within solution focused, compassion focused and attachment-based frameworks. 


Small Group & Team Trainer

Over 15 years' experience in developing and delivering workshops for counsellors and allied health practitioners and leaders:

  • Health Coaching and Behaviour Change skills sessions
  • Client-centred practice and engagement skills
  • How to be a supervisee
  • Becoming an Allied Health supervisor


Qualifications

  • Masters of Counselling from Swinburne University of Technology
  • Graduate Certificate of Alcohol & Other Drugs Work from Turning Point
  • Advanced Certificate in Supervision from Centre for Supervision
  • Diploma of Project Management from Gordon TAFE.


My career so far has predominantly been within community health in Melbourne, Australia.

I am motivated by excellence and ongoing deep reflection and learning.  As such I have a drive to support clinicians and supervisors to reach their potential. I see counselling as a privilege to walk alongside people and support their journey of recovery and discovery. I am excited to now work within my private practice.
